Jerky, Bacon, Maple Bourbon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine maple syrup, bourbon, brown sugar, water, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to form your marinade. Whisk until fully mixed.
  2. Slice the bacon in half to fit your dehydrator trays and place it in the bowl with the marinade. Make sure each piece is fully covered.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 48 hours, allowing the bacon to soak in all the flavors.
  4. Once marinated, remove the bacon and place on dehydrator trays, ensuring no pieces are touching.
  5. Set the dehydrator to 150-160 degrees. Start checking the jerky around the 6-hour mark. It should be ready between six to seven and a half hours.
  6. Let the jerky cool, then enjoy your Maple Bourbon Bacon Jerky!
