Classic PF Chang’s-style lettuce wraps at home. Great appetizer or light dinner.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground chicken
- 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated
- 1 cup water chestnuts, diced
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- Sauce: 3 tbsp hoisin sauce, 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp sriracha
- Vegetable oil for cooking
- Crispy rice noodles for topping (optional)
Directions
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken, breaking apart.
- Cook 6-7 minutes until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic and ginger, cook 1 minute. Add water chestnuts and green onions.
- Pour sauce over chicken and toss to combine. Cook 1-2 minutes until sauce is absorbed.
- Spoon filling into lettuce cups. Top with crispy noodles if using. Serve immediately.
Notes
Water chestnuts provide an essential crunch. Butter lettuce (Bibb) forms the best cups — use outer leaves and stack two together per cup for sturdiness.
