Emeril’s all-purpose ‘Essence’ spice blend, the BAM-worthy backbone of his Creole and Cajun cooking.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sweet paprika
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
Directions
- Combine all of the ingredients thoroughly in a small bowl.
- Transfer to an airtight jar or container and store away from heat and light.
- Use to season meats, seafood, vegetables, eggs, and just about anything that needs a kick of Creole flavor.
