Directions

  1. Sift 1½ ounces (⅓ mess kit spoon) soda, ¾ ounce (three mess kit spoons) ginger and ¼ ounce (¾ mess kit spoon) cinnamon with flour in recipe for sugar cookies. Substitute 1⅛ pounds (½ mess kit cup) molasses for the evaporated milk and water; mix well.
