A crisp sweet-and-tangy slaw balanced with mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, and a touch of sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 small head green cabbage, finely shredded (about 6 cups)
  • 2 large carrots, grated
  • 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrots, and red onion.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, Dijon, and celery seed until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
